Another Lawyer Scammed Her, But Campos Law Firm Saved Her U VISA

Mónica Piñón survived severe workplace abuse only to be defrauded by a negligent immigration lawyer who cost her her legal status. Tune in to the latest Alejandra Campos Podcast to hear her story of resilience, how Campos Law Firm fought to save her case, and how she finally reunited with her family after 26 years.

🎙️ In this new episode of the Alejandra Campos Podcast, she told us how she was deceived, and Dr. Alejandra explained what legal measures you can take in these situations.

A Dream Jeopardized by Legal Negligence

The Alejandra Campos Podcast recently highlighted a heartbreaking reality for many immigrants dealing with fraudulent or negligent attorneys. In this powerful episode, Mónica Piñón sat down to share how a lawyer’s failure to file her paperwork on time caused her to lose her legal status and become undocumented once again.

Overcomming Workplace Abuse and Fraud

Mónica originally obtained a U Visa after bravely reporting severe sexual harassment and psychological abuse by her manager while working at a McDonald’s. After holding her U Visa for three years, she hired an attorney to apply for her permanent residency. Despite paying the fees and providing all necessary evidence months in advance, the lawyer never submitted her application.

A Second Chance with Campos Law Firm

Devastated and holding a denial letter, Mónica sought help from Campos Law Firm. Dr. Alejandra Campos explains that if a client loses their status due to an attorney’s proven negligence, U.S. immigration authorities can offer protection. The firm submitted concrete proof of the previous lawyer’s malpractice, successfully requesting to both extend her U Visa and apply for her green card.

Reunited with Family After 26 years

The diligent legal work paid off. Exactly a year later, Mónica successfully received her permanent residency. This life-changing victory finally allowed her to travel to Mexico and safely reunite with her mother and siblings after 26 long years of separation.
